Google Membuka SynthID Detector untuk Umum, Alatnya untuk Mengidentifikasi Gambar, Video, dan Audio yang Dihasilkan dengan AI
Google recently made its SynthID Detector available to the general public, marking a significant step toward broader AI content verification. The tool lets users upload an image, video, or audio file and determines whether it was generated or altered by artificial intelligence. It also checks for a digital watermark that the system can recognize. SynthID Detector uses an embedded watermarking technique that tags content at the moment of creation. The watermark is invisible to the human eye but can be read by the detector, providing a reliable proof of AI involvement. This feature helps distinguish synthetic media from authentic material. Prior to this release, SynthID was in a restricted beta, accessible only to selected developers and researchers. The public launch expands its reach, allowing journalists, educators, and the general populace to scrutinize digital media. The move also aligns with Google’s broader AI safety initiatives. The tool supports a range of media formats, including common image file types, MP4 video, and MP3 audio. It runs entirely online, returning a confidence score and a visual cue indicating the presence of the watermark. Users can also download the results for further analysis. With the surge of deepfake and synthetic media, SynthID Detector offers a practical countermeasure. By providing a straightforward verification process, Google aims to curb misinformation and foster greater trust in digital content. The platform is free to use, although additional features may be introduced in future updates.
